burkinafaso-showcase

Stepping out of a small plane and onto red soil, I heard french along with 11 other dialects around me. This was the beginning of my 3 months in Burkin Faso, West Africa.

During that time, the team I was with and I met peoples needs, both spiritual and physical. I very often recalled doing this with Acts29 in Haiti and the great effect it had on entire villages there. For an unreached village called Gampela, we built BioSand water filters and fixed their well. We also played the Jesus Film for them in their home language of Fufulde. It had their full attention, as it was their first time to see it.

Before we left we managed to find just one Bible in Fulfude. We explained to the chief how we had come to help his village because Jesus wants to make Himself known to his people. Handing him the bible we said goodbye as all the children of the village came out to see us leave. We had outreachs with many other kids as well. One of my favorite memories was teaching small muslim children to pray to Jesus for each other. After some encouragement and motivation, small African kids blaid hands on one another and prayed. I also befriended many Muslims during my time there in whom I got to pray with and witness to. Their faces lit up as I bagan to speak with them in French. One of the greatest parts of this trip was seeing a young Chinese lady receive Christ after we had continued in friendship with her for weeks. We also ordered a bible in Mandarin for her before we left. It again proved the love of God for the individual as A group of Americans watched a Chinese woman receive Jesus in Africa.it was faces like hers, and the muslim beggar boys and the ladies in the market, that again reminded me of how much God loves everyone. Thank you to everyone who helped Acts 29 to make this trip possible.

My next step is to be in Dallas for a while until I go to another country again for a year or so. I am praying and seriously considering joining a missions agency i worked with in Burkina. I trust God'll bring to light what path I should take! For more on my ventures with Jesus, you can check out my blog: likecoldwater
